This year’s Days of Taste® program, held on April 5 at the Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas (See BGCSC Spring newsletter for details) was an immense success.

Chaired by Charlotte Hackett and taught by Chef Lexi Michael, a Wichita native and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, 34 4th- and 5th-graders learned about the food pyramid and how to convert it into healthy eating.

The children were exposed to local produce as well as some exotic varieties and learned about the different tastes and smells of various cheeses and the feel of grains and beans.
