COMMITTEES

AIWF NY CHAPTER COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

AIWF NY Chapter board members are required to serve on at least one chapter committee.

The AIWF NY Chapter consists of four major committees; Programs and Events, Fundraising, Membership, & Communications and Public Relations.

Each committee consists of two co-chairs, at least two board members as committee members, and at least 2 non-board members (chapter members).Each committee is required to meet at least once between board meetings to discuss committee business.The monthly board meetings are not to be used for discussing committee business but for the committees to present their reports.

1. Board Development and Governance: This committee will develop and execute maintain procedures and protocol for board development and governance.

a. Membership:

i. Develop programs to maintain and increase membership to the AIWF-NY 
ii. Identify and direct placement of board and chapter members to the committees

b. Finance:

i. Maintain all chapter finances and documentation 
ii. Establish and monitor annual budget 
iii. Advise board on all financial decisions

c. Governance:

i. Monitor chapter to ensure adherence to mission and goals 
ii. Establish and work with nominating committee to maintain full board membership 
iii. Review and maintain constitution and by-laws for chapter

2. Programs and Events: this committee will plan and execute all programs and events which further the mission of AIWF-NY

a. Organize and execute single events and program series 
b. Work with fund-raising committee to achieve financial goals for chapter

3. Fundraising: this committee will develop and execute a fundraising program to raise and administer fund for programs within the mission and goals of AIWF-NY

a. Sponsorship - Secure event and chapter sponsorship 
b. Scholarship - Promote and administer scholarship programs 
c. Auction – Secures items and administer auction for chapter events

4. Communications and Public Relations: this committee will support and promote the mission and programs of AIWF-NY through communication and media outlets.

a. Newsletter – write and publish chapter newsletter 
b. Press release and event promotion – write, promote and position chapter events in media outlets 
c. Invitations and promotional material – create materials for chapter events and activities
