The American Institute of Wine and Food and Pinot Days team up to offer you a spectacular Pinot Days Winemaker Dinner as part of the 12th Annual Pinot Days Festival. Our dinner takes place at Waxman's Restaurant & Cafe, opened in San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square in March 2016.
Waxman's is under the culinary direction of Berkeley born-and-raised chef: Jonathan Waxman. Jonathan is also a judge on Bravo’s Recipe for Deception and has appeared on two seasons of Top Chef Masters. Waxman's menu highlights the Bay Area’s seasonality and ingredients in simply prepared California- and Italian-inspired dishes. The menu will reflect what Northern California farmers and purveyors have in season each day.
We start the evening with a tasting reception of pinot noirs from 3 winemakers and passed hors d'oeuvres. Dinner follows with 4 sumptuous courses and 3 other winemakers each pouring one current release and one library selection Pinot Noir specially paired with their course. You will enjoy 6 gorgeous pinot noirs during the seated dinner. Experience this incredible, pinot-paired dinner and the colorful, gifted winemakers who create them. The winemakers will move to different tables with each course so that they are able to share their stories with attendees.
As in previous years, we explore the diversity of styles and terroirs of Pinot Noir. It all makes for lively discussion at your table as you engage with the people who make these wines. The names of our Pinot producers and menu will follow. But please save the date and reserve early as this event does sell out.
We will also feature a silent auction with wines, exciting travel packages and more all benefiting the AIWF Scholarship Fund.
