Returns to The Turnberry Isle Resort & Club
~Local Celebrity Chef Dinner to be Held Saturday, August 30~

Following a $150 million transformation, the legendary Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club with its award-winning Executive Chef Hubert Des Marais welcomes back the South Florida chapter of the American Institute of Wine & Food. A tapas dinner with eight top local chefs is scheduled for 7:00 to 10 p.m. at the Laguna Pool on Saturday, August 30 and celebrates the prestigious organization's return to the resort.

Reknowned chefs confirmed to participate include the resort's Executive Chef Hubert Des Marais and Pastry Chefs Sally Camacho & Tim Brown, David Mullen (BOURBON STEAK,) Allen Susser (Chef Allen's) Norman Van Aken (Norman's Orlando,) Dewey LoSasso (North One 10, ) Sean O'Connell (Fontainebleau Resort), and Tim Andriola (Timo). Each chef will prepare his or her own specialties using the freshest regional ingredients including from Chef Hubert's rare herb and tropical fruit tree garden. Island music will be provided by Nori Nori.

The dishes:Chef Hubert - Florida Wagyu barbeque short ribs with swamp cabbage and a habanero-passion fruit drizzle. Chef Norman - Thai barbequed pork belly open-faced sandwich with local tomatoes, home cured pineapple jerky and tot soi lettuces in sesame-pineapple dressing. Chef Allen - lobster sausage with white bean cassoulet and pistachio pesto. Chef David - scallop dumpling in shitake consomme. Chef Dewey - boneless short rib sloppy joe topped with sliced filet mignon & lobster marmalade. Chef Tim - Seafood fritto misto po boy with lemon garlic aioli. Chefs Sally & Tim - red berry consomme, Manjari mousse, Hazelnut praline, Vanilla roasted pineapple and white rum granite, Churros, Toasted coconut meringue and passion fruit tart.

Tickets for the event are priced at $85 per person, including tax, gratuity and valet parking. All proceeds are contributed toward scholarships for culinary students across South Florida. That weekend, The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club offers a special AIWF $199 per room rate that includes deluxe accomodations in a Fairmont Room and daily American breakfast buffet in the resort's Cascata Grille restaurant.
