Fili-Pinot!
March 23, 2011 6:30 pm
The Norcal Chapter of AIWF and our good friends at Pinot Days present the first of its kind Fili-Pinot! dinner. We have teamed up with Attic Restaurant to bring you an evening featuring Filipino dishes exquisitely paired with Pinot Noirs.
Our dinner will feature Chef Tim Luym's cuisine each matched with a different specially selected Pinot Noir. This should be a fun educational experience- the best kind, right?- as we explore the versatility of this noble grape variety with a cuisine that is not your everyday wine dinner. Filipino cuisine has many influences due to the different settlers over the history of the Philippines. Chef Luym will take full advantage of that range to craft a menu for our pleasure. Tim has created a good deal of buzz, and has been named a Rising Star Chef by the Chronicle and is a James Beard Rising Star nominee. Attic, his newest project, is fantastic.
Each of our 8 tasting courses will be individually plated and served with the one pinot noir that best accentuates the dish and the wine.
Making this evening even more special, a Pinot producer owner or winemaker will be joining us at each of our 8 tables. We will ask that the producers rotate amongst tables during the dinner so you will have the opportunity to get to know them all. Pinot Days has lined up some amazing Pinot producers representing a cross-section of styles that will complement the food. In addition we will hold a silent auction featuring magnums of these wines!
The producers are:
Fogcrest
Freeman
Keller Estate
La Follette
Papapietro Perry
Suacci Carciere
Thomas George
Three Stix
Our menu has not yet been finalised and as soon as it is ready we will be sending it to you. But do not wait and reserve now- we have only 50 seats for this experience!
