Welcome to the NorCal Chapter -Northern California/San Francisco Bay Area/Wine Country.
The American Institute of Wine Food is a non-profit organization founded by Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, Richard Graff and others in 1981 to advance the understanding, appreciation and quality of what we eat and drink. The money we raise enables us to fulfill our mission by providing funds for our Days of Taste program and provide scholarships to deserving students in accredited culinary, wine and hospitality programs. Days of Taste is a hands-on school program targeted to students to demonstrate and experience that fresh food tastes good. The Norcal Days of Taste and Scholarship programs are active and expanding.
The NorCal Chapter covers the San Francisco Bay area including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and the pre-eminent wine producing region in the United States: Napa and Sonoma. We host many events throughout the year across a wide spectrum of type and venues. This home page will always show an up to date event calendar and a running list of all the events for the year.
Benefits of membership: Your annual member dues are fully tax deductible and represent an excellent value by providing entry to Chapter member-only events, significant discounts to Norcal Chapter events open to all, as well as discounts on tickets to some of the top food and wine events we partner with in the area. But best of all your membership shows you support what we do in Northern California. As a group of volunteers our reward is knowing you support us by joining.
Along with our sister chapters and the national organization, we promote an exchange of ideas that benefit both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts through publications and programs. Membership is open to all. It is a wonderful way to meet knowledgeable people in the industry and simply a great way to meet others with common interests.
Please see the national organization's web page for more details on the AIWF's mission, national events, and links to our sister chapters.
We update this site frequently, so please bookmark us and come see us again soon! And, as always, thank you for your support!
