Welcome to the NorCal Chapter -Northern California/San Francisco Bay Area/Wine Country.
The American Institute of Wine Food is a non-profit organization founded by Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, Richard Graff and others in 1981 to advance the understanding, appreciation and quality of what we eat and drink. The money we raise provides scholarships to deserving students in accredited culinary, wine and hospitality programs and to fund our Days of Taste program. Days of Taste is a hands-on school program targeted to 4th and 5th graders to demonstrate and have them experience that fresh food tastes good.
The NorCal Chapter is one of many across the United States. Along with our sister chapters and the national organization, we promote an exchange of ideas that benefit both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts through publications and programs.
Membership is open to all. It is a wonderful way to meet knowledgeable people in the industry and simply a great way to meet others with common interests.
