Welcome to the National Capital Area Chapter!
The American Institute of Wine Food is a non-profit organization founded by Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, Richard Graff and others in 1981 to advance the understanding, appreciation and quality of what we eat and drink.
The National Capital Area Chapter is one of many across the United States. Along with our sister chapters and the national organization, we promote an exchange of ideas that benefit both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts through publications and programs.
Membership is open to all. It is a wonderful way to meet knowledgeable people in the industry and simply a great way to meet others with common interests. We encourage you to attend one or two of our events as a guest. Take a look at our recent newsletter, Capital Wine & Food.
Upcoming Events:
Sunday September 19 - Favorites from Chateau du Fey Luncheon and Memories with Anne Willan at 15ria.
September 20 - the 5th annual Karen Cathey "I Love Crab Cakes" competition at Phillips.
Check out our upcoming events by clicking the ones highlighted on the calendar to get further details.
Please see our national organization's web page for more details on the AIWF's mission, national events, and links to our sister chapters.
Come see us again!
