Welcome to the National Capital Area Chapter!
The American Institute of Wine Food is a non-profit organization founded by Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, Richard Graff and others in 1981 to advance the understanding, appreciation and quality of what we eat and drink.
The National Capital Area Chapter is one of many across the United States. Along with our sister chapters and the national organization, we promote an exchange of ideas that benefit both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts through publications and programs.
Membership is open to all. It is a wonderful way to meet knowledgeable people in the industry and simply a great way to meet others with common interests. We encourage you to attend one or two of our events as a guest.
Take a look at our recent newsletter, Capital Wine & Food.
Check out recipes from Chef Matt Finareli for his Fenneled Fingerling Potatoes, Laurie Bell for her Luscious Crabcakes and Presto Pesto, and a seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake from the Philadelphia restaurant Under the Blue Moon.
Read a review of the 2010 I Love Crabcakes! competition on DCist.
