Chicago Honey Co-op’s jars of local honey have been a hot commodity at this summer’s farmers markets including Green City, Oak Park and Logan Square. Open since 2004, this member-owned urban apiary, home to over 60 hives, produces natural honey and honey-based products from chemical free beehives all located in the city. We will tour the apiary to see the bees in action, conduct a tasting of the results and learn how city bee keeping is not only possible but also a viable business model. Then it’s downtown for lunch at Ina’s, where we will be enjoying a special 3-course menu showcasing Chicago Honey Co-op’s honey, paired with specially selected meads. Parking’s free at Ina’s.
