Join us for a fabulous tour of Rick
Bayless’ kitchen garden hosted by Bill Shores, a specialist in small-scale urban space and Rick’s full-time gardener. Bill will talk about how he maximizes the efficiency of Rick’s garden which grows much of the produce used at Frontera Grill and Topolobampo. Then we’ll head downtown to Frontera for a private 3-course lunch featuring Rick’s vibrant, seasonal cuisine.

Hard to imagine a produce farm in the middle of the city, but that’s what Rick and Bill have created using three adjacent lots in the heart of Bucktown. It’s functional, beautiful and completely organic. The inspired mix of raised and traditional beds, vertical and indoor spaces and stunning containers provide an ever-changing variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs for the restaurants. We’ll also have a chance to explore Rick’s outdoor kitchen and greenhouse and learn about Bill’s composting system and intensive gardening techniques.
