Typically open only to the trade, The French Wine Academy is an incredible opportunity to hone your knowledge and expand your horizons. You'll spend the entire day immersed in history, terroir and trends for each of the 8 key wine-making regions of France. And, of course, your palate will be treated to an incredible array of wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Loire valley, Alsace, the Rhone, Champagne, the South of France and Beaujolais. Hard work for sure...but a heck of a lot more fun than whatever you do for a living--take the day off and travel by glass to some of the most revered winemaking regions in the world!

French Wine Academy
The French Wine Academy is sponsored by the French Wine Society (FWS), a non-profit trade organization dedicated to the promotion of French wine in the United States. Headquartered in Washington DC, this is the first year the FWS has hosted the Wine Academy in Chicago. The program is designed to provide wine educators and the trade with in-depth information about each of the wine regions in France, so that they, in turn, might engage and educate consumers. The Academy is a two-day certification process, but FWS has graciously agreed to open the first day up to AIWF's members and associates so that they might have the opportunity to expand their learning and follow their passion for French wine, food and culture.
