The American Institute of Wine & Food Baltimore Chapter Days of Taste®

About Our Chapter
Our chapter is creating a recipe for success by bringing the ingredients from local farms and chefs to classrooms. Students compare and contrast tastes and textures as well as develop understandings about different foods and basic nutrition principles that will remain with them into adulthood.
Days of Taste®, known as the signature program for AIWF, is an interactive program for fourth and fifth grade students that helps build a food and nutrition vocabulary. We pride ourselves on reaching out to thousands of children each year.
Some of the activities students have in the Days of Taste® include a tasting guided by a chef, or visit with a local farmer to discover the wealth and variety of products grown and that are available locally, or preparing a Harvest salad using fresh produce that the they have purchased themselves at their local Farmer’s Market.
If you would like more information on how you can support your local Days of Taste® program and become involved, please contact aiwfbaltimore@yahoo.com. Please visit our event calendar to see details on upcoming Days of Taste events.
We’re not just nourishing our youth – we’re nurturing the AIWF members and leaders of tomorrow.
We are currently scheduling Days of Taste® for Spring 2012. Over a dozen schools in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County will be participating in the program, including Moravia Park, Mount Washington, Furley, Cradlerock, Swansfield, and Talbott Springs elementary school.
